Picture Tools

Post by Vlad » Sat Mar 19, 2016 3:44 pm

This plugin may be helpful for users that lost their pictures (covers, photos, shots, etc.). The first version of the plugin can do two things:
1. Delete dead links to pictures from the database. This option also selects the corresponding movies (in Group Operations), so after closing the plugin you can re-download information about the movies.
2. Re-download pictures directly.

A few words more about the first option. If you lose some or all picture files, links to pictures are still available in the database. If you simply re-download information about the movies / people, the program will not re-download the pictures. This option remove such dead links, allowing you to re-download pictures while updating information about the corresponding items. You can use the following scenario:
1. Create a backup of your database (always a good idea before / after massive changes).
2. Enable Group Operations. Suppose, we are on the "Movies" tab (the left-hand area of the program).
3. Open the plugin and delete dead links.
4. Close the plugin.
5. Switch to the "Persons" tab, then back to "Movies". This will refresh the list, showing checkmarks near the movies processed by the plugin.
6. Hit the "Download" button to refresh information about the movies.

The downloaded file should be unpacked to C:\Program files (x86)\Movienizer\Plugins (the typical path). After this, restart the program. The new plugin will be available in the "Plugins" menu.

Vlad thanks for this plugin ;)

one thing missing in the pictures and the possibility to add a "Description" for single photos

It will be implemented in the future? :|

There is a comment field for pictures in the database, but I think it isn't used anywhere. So, while it is possible to set a comment (or a description), it would be of little use, as the program simply wouldn't show it :)

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, alle Personen ohne Bilder zu suchen und zu löschen?

You need to use the picture plugin that is embedded into Movienizer 9.2 not the one attached to the 1st post here. Delete the picture plugin from the plugins folder and reinstall the application. Should install the good plugin.
IN the menu now the name is Search for unavailable pictures.

Cheers
